Born in Gibraltar, Stephen Ignacio has been involved in the media and arts since he can first remember. Initially working in the fine arts as a painter, having produced numerous murals when only a teenager, he then went to study in the UK where he soon became involved in public arts.
Turning his hand into the commercial world of design and marketing Stephen spent over 12 years in the advertising and media industry in GIbraltar dabbling in journalism and soon became known as a strong-minded local reporter during the height of the joint sovereignty crisis in Gibraltar.
A lack of commercial avenues within a small local community saw Stephen turn his head on the media world for some five years whilst entering the law enforcement world. His heart for the media soon took hold of him again, and armed with a DSLR camera he soon started to make a name for himself as an aspriing local street photographer. His love for documenting the world as he saw it soon led to a new challenge in which he now mixes his experience in the commercial fields of advertising and graphic design with his love and passion for the arts, bringing together graphics and photography.
Always seeking new challenges, his love for documentary photography continues to lead the way, as he strives to open a new pathway into the arts world from the unlikeliest of communities, the small town of Gibraltar.
