I remember the day I started painting. It was a long time ago -- maybe 1967 or earlier. Pushing paint around on a canvas was just a fascinating thing to do, and from then on, I was hooked.
Went to the University of Pennsylvania during the Vietnam years, and started painting intensively, even though art was not my major.
After graduating (and placing out of the draft thanks to the birthday lottery), I taught 6th grade for a year, then left for Germany to study painting in Munich's Akademie der bildenden Künste.
Got a Masters in Fine Art from The School of the Art Institute (Class of 1975), and a Masters from the University of Chicago's Department of Social Science.
Devoted the next umpteen years to professional computer programming, but now I'm retired, and have returned to my favorite pursuit, which is art-making!
