Stuart Brown is a Jamaican born self-taught photographer who uses the camera as his medium for artistic expression. He sometimes goes to extreme length to create the painterly-like quality to some of his fine art photos by utilizing special films, lighting and filters. He uses a film processing technique known as PUSH PROCESS to increase the grain in the transparency film. With film-less cameras he uses Photoshop and other post production methods to add grain and create textural quality to his erotic and digital art. His work has been sold to private collectors and through galleries in Europe, Africa and the United States,
The intent of his work is to reveal a sense of spirituality and awareness of beauty whether it is in human form or nature. Stuart freely admits to being fascinated with the beauty and sensuality of women in general, and the black woman in particular. 'These images are pure fantasy-mysterious and sometimes erotic; conceived in the mind, styled and designed on paper and captured on film or digitally'. His fascination with the human face is evident in his portraits of the male and female subjects.
In addition to his photography, he has been working for over 35 years as an interior designer. He studied and worked for 20 years in Europe before migrated to the United States. His design work is mainly focus in the residential and hospitality market. He worked on projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States. He now lives with his wife in South Florida.
