Born and raised on the Mojave Desert in California, Tanya now enjoys the lush greenery of her home in the NE Georgia mountain town of Hollywood where she lives with her husband of 39 years, Tim. Her only son Tyrie is Director of the Food Hub a part of the Food Bank of NE GA. She has one grandson, Eli who is her pride and joy.
Having been involved in various art media over her 60+ years of living she has found her passion in photographing the beauty of everyday life in nature and historic structures. As former owner/photographer of Silver Image Photographics, a portrait studio specializing in babies and children she enjoyed photographing her tiny subjects but opted to close the studio for economic reasons in 2008. Her current body of work reflects her love of nature and history and can be seen here on Fine Art America. Her formal education includes a 2 year course in Commercial Photography at N GA Tech College and numerous photo workshops conducted by PPA and GPPA (Prof. Photographers of Amer. and affiliate organizations). She is now retired but still deeply passionate about photography and continues to photograph and share her vision of the world around her.
Her equipment consists of a Canon Powershot SX60, Windows 8 Phone, a Canon Pro 9000 printer and a Sony Vaio laptop with Photoshop CS and Painter 11. She is mostly self-taught in Photoshop and Painter.
