From childhood I have had a passion for 'creating'. Throughout my life that passion has taken on many different forms. Immediately following my graduation from Fordham University I began a career in Theatrical Costume Design. I spent 25 fulfilling and successful years in the business, designing throughout the United States.
However the past five years have brought about many wonderous and challenging life changes for me. And with those life changes has come the realization that the core of my creative passion lies in painting. And that that passion can no longer be satisfied with painting 'just when I have the time.'
And so with my recent marriage to a wonderful and supportive man, and the creation of a magnificent studio space, I can finally direct all my creative energy toward painting.
My inspiration for my art comes from many places, but the driving force behind it seems to be the spritual journey that I have undertaken in recent years. My paintings will often reflect where I am in that journey or where I have recently been. So that, contrary to most accepted methods, my art encompasses a wide range of subjects. I will admit, however, to doing the occasional piece 'just for the fun ot it'.
As for technique, medium and style ... My pieces are usually created on gallery wrapped canvas but the occasional piece appears on wood panel. All are created in oil. I have studied and attempt to emulate the oil painting techniques used by the old masters. And I do believe that the style I use is 'Realism'.
In conclusion, I hope that my work can bring to all of you some of the joy that it has imparted to me over my life time. And if it should, by some chance, help you along in your life's journey, then I am most honored and pleased.
