I have always had a creative streak. In the second grade, my teacher allowed us 'free time' in class. I took advantage. I made purses and wallets for my classmates-out of paper and glue. In high school is where the spark for drawing was born. I had no idea. My art teacher showed me a few things and what do you know--I could draw. When I was 17, I painted my first mural. In college I took a few art classes here and there. I learned to sculpt, to use colored pencils, and pastels. When I started teaching in a high school, the art teachers were my very best friends. I have sat in on classes and learned right along with the other high school students. Two of the highschool art teachers taught me to paint using acrylics. I am still learning how to paint using watercolors and oils. Artsy and creative people are who I like to hang out with.
I have been teaching children's workshop and teaching adults how to paint. I do traveling paint parties for birthdays and social gatherings as well as commissioned piecesl.
