I strive to achieve a strongly asserted emotional content stemming from personal vision and enjoy most capturing the expression of that emotion through paintings. I strive for inward revelation through the observation of nature in all its abundance (including the human element). My work is the haiku in color. I feel that color is the gourmet meal for the eye. Thus it is this artistís task to abstract from the observation of color in nature the essence of the form and color. The essential components of the observation then evoke the emotional response that is eventually captured in the work. I work in many forms: oil and acrylic on canvas and linen; water color, pastel, color pencil, ink, clay, and often combine media. In short, I do whatever works to achieve my goal. For a number of years (mid-eighties in Colorado) I was a potter who created paintings on my pottery. My favorite toy as a child was anything that would mark on a flat surface. My younger sister says a favorite memory of childhood is of me drawing. I have worked and played at art my entire life.
