Trending Art For Home Decor And Interior Design Facebook Group

Marketing specialists (Hootsuite source) consider Facebook group as the most powerful tool for 2018, where the people can meet each other from around the world and discuss their ideas and projects.

" Build advocate communities with Facebook Groups. Facebook is investing heavily in Groups as they look to increase user engagement (and future ad space) beyond the News Feed. This is a significant opportunity to both gain a new source of organic customer engagement on Facebook, study customers in their natural habitat, and build real advocacy. We think Facebook Groups are a significant opportunity in 2018."

Recently I created the Facebook group Trending Art for Home Decor and Interior Design and I would love you to join for participation:

I so hope it will not be only the group where you will be showcase your artworks but also show your art look in interiors with links back and for now with FAA feature we all have such opportunity. I would like to create the powerful place where can meet the artists and professional interior designers looking for art works original or prints for their projects.

My intention to get together professionals in both industries who actually needs each other, kind of Houzz space but on the mighty Facebook platform.
Hope you will support me on this project and add your thoughts, ideas and showcase your works of course! Best in situ - look in interior,

Also I would love to see the last trends ideas in home decor and interior design, including interesting articles, videos, images etc. To keep it active and attractive for professionals. When group will be filled enough with artworks Im going to make an invitation thread for designers in Houzz.
Meanwhile I will be organizing the weekly theme threads to keep our offers neat.

So here is a group https://www.facebook.com/groups/370146176729890/

Where do we get backdrops like this to show case our art? I think it would appeal better to designers than FAA's version. Much classier and on point with what homes are being designed like.

Jani there was a thread a little while ago that had examples of art in room settings and apps you could use to produce them. I don't have time now to play with the search to find it, someone might remember it and post the link?

Jenny Rainbow

Jani, I agree with you, this presentation looks absolutely neat and classy but I dont have any idea where Robert got it! Some of us I know buying the images with interior on stock sites, to be a bit different from each other.
Because the free versions are very limited by the quantity of rooms for showcase.

Jani Freimann

I found some free versions at mockups that are pretty good, but most of those are groupings. Wallapp has them too, but not as good.

It probably is good to buy a few too.

I am really enjoying working with everyone in this group, such lovely work!

Please remember this is a chance to show your work to others who may like to buy it - so you must remember to put a clickable link in the post or they won't know where to go. If you forget it is easy to fix. To the right hand side of your post, level with your name you will see three dots. Click on them and one of the options is to edit your post. Then you can paste in the link to the image you are promoting.

Thank you everybody, who commented above, for your kind words! all who requested are added to the group, so you are very welcome!

To double Dorothy's suggestion - I put the group rules right here which will be required to follow to keep group neat and effective.
This rules you can find on the pinned post in the group.

1. Only themes related to the Art, Home Decor and Interior Design.
2. The Links (PAGE URLs) must be provided along with promoting artworks, decor, design.
3. One artwork per artist per day, preferably showing the look in interior. All extra will be deleted
4. Interior Designers can open their own threads with CALL for ACTION if you need particular art theme for your recent or upcoming projects.
5, You can post the articles about interior and decor trends and interesting information related with this theme UNLIMITED.
6. Weekly we are running the theme threads where you can add your related
artworks with links (URL) and short description.

BE ACTIVE, ENJOY THE GROUP and USE IT WISE! (not a rule just suggestion :-) )

Dorothy Berry-Lound

We have some new theme threads up and I am loving the conversations in the group.

Just a quick reminder for everyone to check the terms of use of the room settings used to display your art work. Remember to read the small print and check it is okay to use it. Don't just assume you can use it for commercial use and don't take other people's word for it, you need to check for yourself as you are taking responsibility when you use an image.

Several of my latest posts to the trending art group have been removed by FB this morning for potential spamming. I was posting to my FB art page and then sharing exclusively to the Trending Art group. I also created unique descriptions for these posts. I have disputed the spam label with FB but I see they have removed another of my posts. They are removing them both from my art page and the group. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Jenny Rainbow

MM Anderson, yes been there too ((( usually its warning when you are trying to comment with link. But seems now they started to be even more nasty (( Maybe for some time to post not daily or twice daily but one day post, one day skip. I really dont have any other proper advise for now. Its really difficult to understand them

Jessica Jenney

I really don't understand this since its says you can share your page post to a group. And for this group we are allowed one post per day. But whatever the reason I would post pictures with a link to your site for now.

RD Erickson

I don't catch them all, and certainly wouldn't ask you to comment just to comment - but - if you see someone's post you like - don't just "like" - we need a bit of conversation - comment on the set up if it's nice, comment on the art if you like it in the set up - or just comment on the art.

The other thing I have noticed - if you are using a room with a not head on place for your image - it looks awkward if you paste your image square, face on, and the wall is slanted away.

It's kind of like when you take a photo of water - that water horizon line has got to be straight - unless it's running down hill or over a waterfall - if it's not - think - all that water running off the side of the image.

Brian Wallace

Yes MM, I have been having that experience but it usually begins first with my posting too many too fast to my art groups. They restrict me temporarily (usually about 10 days), but this time they said temporarily but gave no date/time when it will be lifted. I've been able on occasion to tell them why I was restricted in error which in the past they said they couldn't do anything but consider it for future actions for FB as a whole. Lately however, I've been able to inform them on individual cases that it was not spam and they've reinstated it on my say so. They still don't lift the whole restriction however. I'm waiting and hoping the whole restriction will be lifted again. It's getting close to roughly 10 days since the initial restrictions. We'll see what happens.

RD Erickson

One other thing - then I'm going to bed: When you put an image up in the room setting or just as an image of a photo or painting - say something about it - don't just let it hang there like a lost child.

Brian Wallace

Well, since it's mandatory to link back to your image on FAA, I have my description of the piece there. On my "room settings" thus far, I've done quite a bit of work searching for the room image, uploading and saving, enlarging, creating frames for the image, and adding several links embedded in the image. Probably much more work than it's worth. I think we all would want comments if we can get them but a "like" is better than nothing at all. :)

Jenny Rainbow

@RD Erickson (1st post) - sorry, Im not sure I understand what you meant by this: if you are using a room with a not head on place for your image...etc

@Brian - Im sharing the post from my business page up to 8 groups in one time, trying not to go further, better to do after some significant time like - 5 hours or more or next day.

@RD Erickson (2nd post) - I agree, the comments and any professional discussions are good as its showing more activity in the group and than FB giving in advise to join to this active group. Designers are slowly started to join too. So activity is important. And I definitely giving more priority with time to FB group then to FAA activity. FB is potentially contains with billions of people who can be interested in buying the art. Yes FAA is exactly for this - but FAA's point is to give attention and promotion only for very tiny group of known artists and point to others to promote themselves outside - so that why FB is in preference for spending time there to built an interest for the particular audience. In this case the interior designers. And you have a chance to show the best of your art and especially how it looks in the interior for better presentation.
And I also very much agree to give the information about the work! I would say its MUST, but could not push to do it - you are all adults and have to take your own responsibility to get out the best of your art!

And couple of cases of sold artworks which were displaying in the group is also showing the group is working in a right direction!

Jenny Rainbow

Also i would add why the pictures with added link is better than just picture generated by link. Because when the visitor coming to the group and dont want to scroll down through whole news feed he is going to the section of IMAGES and than he is able to go through the images and watch that particular one which catching his attention. So another my important request to give the description and the link over the image -not in comments! No one visitors will go to the comments! Comments are for activity and involving more people. Because this post will be appearing in the personal feed for any people who belongs to group!
Also use hashtags - its for FB search and for search engines..

Hope I will be heard and you will make your conclusion and clarification why to be active in group and put proper posts are important!

Dorothy Berry-Lound

What Roy means I think is if the image shouldn't be straight on in the picture, so if you are looking down a wall at an angle for example, having a picture straight on is going to look strange because of the perspective. I am sure he will correct me if I have misunderstood.

It is up to the artist to present their work as best as possible for potential buyers - to me that would suggest a little introductory text and not just what could be seen as an image dump. It is also a good idea to go back and check what your post looks like once you have published it. Sometimes the images don't show or the link isn't there and then Jenny or I have to step in. Also sometimes the artwork looks enormous in the room setting - be sure the print can be made that size. Imagine a buyer thinking how wonderful a picture was and then finding they couldn't buy a print anywhere near the size suggested in the room mock up.

I am doing less on Facebook with my own page and less with groups, focusing mainly on three or four and particularly on this group. My Facebook stats have increased and so have the clicks on my work from there (according to Google Analytics). I think the focus and concentration on one group rather than scattergun approach may be the way to go.

Jenny Rainbow

Dorothy, I agree with you! My intention now to work with promotion deeper and with more quality and not wider.
But never hurts to share already published post afterwards to some groups too and not required so much time. Although Im actually not active on any other FB groups, just a real concentration on this particular one, for others just sharing...

RD Erickson

Yes Dorothy - you explained it better, I guess, than I did.

MM Anderson

If you are making a composite with an angled wall space you can tinker with the shear tool in your software until it looks right. It may be a little bit of work but it gives a more natural look.

I don't post my work to a lot of FB groups. I have been concentrating on this new group but I can't tell yet if my views are really increasing. Time will tell I guess. I've stopped posting every day after the 'spam' incident but I am still liking and sometimes commenting on most of the posts I see from others.

Jim Hughes

I'm now starting to learn about FB ads and promotion, and I came across this recently revived thread. I'd like to be in the group as I have some photos that appeal to designers, but from recent posts it looks like FB has just churned everything up, what used to be allowed is now removed as spam, and maybe all I can do is wait a few weeks for the dust to settle before doing anything.

Jenny Rainbow

I think its temporary about spam issues. I still managing to post without spam about 12 groups in a row by the last trial.
And this group is working - today we got the person from art consulting agency who made a call for artists,. As I can see by now the concept is great and alive and definitely worth the time consummation.

OK Jenny, I'll join the group and see if I can figure it all out.

Jim Hughes

I see this became a very long thread. Has anyone found a good free-or-cheap app for putting art in a contemporary room setting?
