Happy Fruitcake Toss Day!

today is a special day when you get rid of all the bad fruitcakes you got. you can toss it in the trash, or toss it in the field. i suppose you could just let it sit and freeze and see if animals will eat it.

for those that don't have, fret not, its also national sleep day. a time to hibernate and just sleep your cares away, caution doing this at work may lead to permanent job loss, in a car, permanent loss of life.

and for those that aren't into fruit cake throwing, or sleeping
humiliation day.

its not what you think though, its to recognize what it feels like to humiliate someone and to self reflect and be humble... on the other hand that's a bit too deep, and not so comical, so its probably better to celebrate it the best way you think you can.

because rose, every day is different. you can't keep it all in one thread, because its a different topic each time, there are different days. we had like 9 different christmas threads going, you didn't seem to mind that much. can't we celebrate non holidays just as much?

do you have something against tossing fruit cake? that sounds like a lot of fun, if had one of those things.

not at all dave. this is about all the different ways we can celebrate things. that every day can be a happy one, no matter how absurd it is. there is always a time to smile and have a happy one. are you against happiness?

I believe I read somewhere on the internet that the fruitcake toss was the origin of American football.

My sister puts her post-Christmas fruitcake in a plastic container and drizzles it with a shot or two of dark rum and covers it. She turn the cake once a week and adds more rum until the coldest day in February when she throws out the cake and uses the rum syrup in the container over a stack of hot pancakes. She call this National Warm Your Inards Day. It hasn't caught on yet, but she expects it to go viral this year.
