Hi Poco. You are beautiful

My little 7 lbs Japanese Chin Coco had a bad anal gland infection that antibiotics couldn't solve. so she was in surgery yesterday to have them removed (which is a lot more delicate and complicated than you might think.) Can you spell nerve wracking? (yes it is with an a. I looked it up lol)

The good news is all went well. The other good news is that I will lose weight now since I can only afford to eat one slice of bread with one lousy slice of factory cheese per day for the next couple of months. lol

Rescued 2 young fledgling birds in our backyard that had been blown out of or fallen out of their nest during horrific monsoon winds the night before.

Looked in vain for the nest so took them to a local bird rescue organization close to us. They were very busy taking in birds that had suffered a similar fate.

Vet identified them as White Winged Doves. Felt good to help save the lives of such helpless creatures. My good news.

There is so much good news, that I cannot put it all into one super-huge basket.

I will start with this one: It is Friday the 13th and Jason hasn't found me yet.

Shhhh. Don't say a word.

Bill i had a nest of mourning doves that got torn to pieces, found the two babies had moved about 25 ft away. the daddy found them very shortly afterwards. daddy takes care in the day time and mom at night. they were very close to being ready to fledge.

Bill Tomsa

Denise I know what you're saying. Thanks.

We watched a baby bird in our backyard last year being fed and watched over by, we assumed, it's parents. We watched for four days thinking all was well as they fed it.

Then on the fifth day I found it dead and that really upset me.

I vowed when I saw these two birds we would not relive that experience again so when we could not find the nest to put them back into, we did the next best thing and took them to the bird rescue organization. I would highly recommend anyone finding baby birds out of their nests who can't fly to do the same.

I wanted to go ahead and rescue them, 90+ degrees here. but when dad found them and they cuddled up i felt like they would be ok. hours later they were still doing fine and were flitting down the hill a bit. i looked today but could not find them.

Have an avatar once again "Head Shot" as the uploaded for it "finally" decided to accept my image.

Sold two metal prints here on FAA.

Found 10 Euros in the street while out for a walk.

All on Friday 13th; lucky for some.

Puppy Power!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a really fun engagement photo shoot on the beach at sunrise this morning - and it was a really amazing sunset. What was the most fun is that the bride-to-be, age in mid-30's had never, ever seen a sunrise over the ocean before. It was a wonderful experience for her. Her husband-to-be is a good friend of mine so it was a special morning for all three of us.

Today's good news is that the basement leak fixing guys finished early and didn't charge as much as my estimate, so today, I don't have jackhammers pounding away down there. The dishes are not rattling in the cabinet and my head isn't pounding along with the jackhammer. Sometimes "not" things are good news.

Upgraded to the new iPhone XR a few days ago.

This summer one of the knobs on our gas cooktops got gummed up and wouldn't turn without great difficulty, like without pliers. To avoid breaking something, just in case I carefully pried the knob off with two wooden spoons, and used pliers on the metal peg to try and loosen it up.

I then sprayed WD-40 down into the mechanism. After two or three weeks it still didn't want to move so I just let it be and forgot about it, letting the oil do its work. About 6-8 weeks later, I tried again with the pliers and it moved with some difficulty.

After just turning it on and off again a few times though it started working very freely, maybe easier than the other knobs, which is ironic, or at least kind of funny in a good way. It was the front left burner.. It's surprising how inconvenient that was, being used to having all the burners working, especially both front ones.

Recently we got a new refrigerator. That's also really inconvenient when it stops working. Counting my iPhone6 acting up/XR upgrade, the WD-40 was the cheapest fix.

A few bits of good news...yesterday I almost burnt down the house, but I didn't! Had a fire in our chimney (it needs to be cleaned) and filled the house with smoke. Had to shovel out the burning wood and take it outside. Took awhile for the woodstove pipe to stop glowing bright red and all the smoke to clear from the house.

Other good news...on Sunday I had a Facebook post go viral with 1,500 likes, resulting in lots of prints being sold here and lots of people asking for a link to my site. Yay!

Hans, your tapestry looks fantastic!

Peggy, a fire in your chimney, a smoked filled house, and a stove glowing bright red... yikes! ..somehow makes my stuck cooktop knob seem, I don’t know.. a little trivial, lol Glad everything is okay. And ‘grats on the Facebook likes and sales.

For the first time in more than three years, there are no open wounds or sutures in my left foot. When my nurse and I were looking at the foot today, I'm not sure I realized how huge this news was. Last year at this time, there was a hole in the bottom of the foot that went down to my bone. I've had at least six surgeries on that foot including the amputation of the two biggest toes as well as some revision surgery. But all that is behind me at least for the moment. I'll be much more careful with the foot than i was with my right foot -- I'm a right leg below knee amputee, for those keeping score at home -- but right now I am thankful for good news.

Peggy, I am very glad you did not burn your house down.

That is good news, Joseph.. continued healing...

Peggy Collins

Joseph, that is indeed good news. I think sometimes these things seem almost too good to be true at the moment and it takes awhile to sink in to realize how lucky we are.

Ken, it's weird the way something seems like a big deal...until something even bigger comes along. And then you thank you lucky stars for what you have.

More good news...the chimney cleaner is coming tomorrow morning. :-)

I had oral surgery two days ago to remove two impacted wisdom teeth and a broken molar. I was very concerned about taking any kind of opioid pain meds. The good news is it's way less painful than I anticipated. I have only taken one of the prescribed opioid pain pills, because the prescription strength ibuprofen has been strong enough to help.

Peggy Collins

Ouch, Jim. Glad to hear the dental work isn't too painful though. It's definitely a good idea to stay away from the stronger stuff if you can manage it.

My good news today is I woke up to discover that I placed first in FAA's Digital Artwork contest - https://fineartamerica.com/contests/1-digital-artwork.html?tab=leaderboard ...a very nice surprise!

OH FRABJUS DAY!

I got an email from Sprint! My lease is up next month! Framjambulous! I can NOT wait to put this company behind me.

I have been a loyal customer since 2003 at the latest! I don't expect much from a Cell company. And I saved money versus Verizon or AT&T every month that I had them.

I really can't complain... But I am seriously thrilled to be letting them go.

My only question now is whether I go with the Galaxy 9 or with something else (I like my 8... I half think I might buy it...except that it is 18 months old... I have backups... I don't know... I only know that I'm thrilled to be switching over to my new server, Xfinity, where my other phones are (5 lines for $15 with 1 shared Gig, free wifi and unlimited talk text on the Verizon network... unlimited data for $45 on any line that wants it... It saves me $ for the family phones.)

Woot Woot!

Right up there with OMG & fabulous :)
Red Giant's announcement was posted to my Twitter feed on Nov. 29.

I'd entered last year's contest -- so didn't really expect to win this year. Hope springs eternal, though -- dreams really do come true -- apparently, you just have to keep giving'em a shot.

Thank you, Carmen! Mr. Deigner and I are already packing our suitcases, and I just made sure to take with me our travelzoom camera - despite of being small, she has loads of cool features, including the possibility of generating RAW files. I'm looking forward to update my portfolio when I'm back!

Congratulations for your winning! Their catalogue is mind blowing, wow! 😱 I'm looking forward to see what you will create with these tools!

Sometimes little things are good news. My right big toe stopped hurting. Some years back I fumbled a concrete block onto my toe and after groans, ice packs, X-rays, etc, the MD said that it's a tiny crack, doesn't need any treatment because it will let you know (with severe pain) when you are doing something that's too much. It healed but, every now and again, it decides to remind me with pain to NOT do dumb-ass things like drop a concrete block on my toe. It did that for a few days last week, but now the toe seems to have decided that everything is OK, that I remember the injury and how it happened. I'm more careful with rocks and blocks now.

Greetings Jim and everyone!!! Not sure how I missed out on this forum? Nice to read about all the good news!!! Jim, what a great looking new pet and markings, Has he gotten into any mischief? Not finished reading all the post as of yet. I have enjoyed what everyone has been posting. I did not do Thanksgiving this year or have a birthday cake November 25, I turned 67 and truly blessed I remain in perfect health from 6 month checks up to yearly just about.....

A long time friend we both treat each other with friends pre birthday get together at a new restaurant opening in the city. They surprised me and instead of a traditional cake the restaurant baker prepares mini traditional New Orleans King Cakes drizzled with a brown sugar run glaze....it did have a single candle....

Good news finally purchased another lap top, my other two were fried, I purchased a new one and it was defective returned it now have another working lap top....I also back full time taking photos with a used Nikon and a great deal on a 300 mm lens, I have been now posting new images. Good news I moved from a 1,200.00 a month 4th floor two bedroom unit to a 600.00 month 1st floor 2 bedroom and pay only 300.00 monthly and able to enjoy a large chunk of my social security.

I do have plans for friends over for a Christmas Day evening dinner with home made southern style pralines, thumb print turtle cookies, cocoa fudge and individual 100 year old family recipe for fruit cake drops with a spoon full of whisky colored cellophane wrapped for gift giving and after dinner treats...

Good to hear the good new Joseph and your healing progress, that is great news!!!!

Cheers and Happy Holidays To Everyone,
Michael Hoard..
