What a lovely image. Thanks for the "hit the dots" tip, Mike.

No problem with the download but I do have a bit of a time problem this week. So I just did a quick composite so I have "something" in this last Abbie's Edit Challenge for the year.

Oh well, I just right clicked on the pic and downloaded it at the low resolution. Later I tried the option to "download all" but I had already done my editing and I'm afraid my first version is just going to stay as is. Took too long to re-do with the higher res image download.

The 8th edit challenge from Abbie Shores (FAA admin). I brought out the details in the image and enlarged it (as a smart object). In this version I added a legendary sea monster and a lady photographing it with a cell phone.

Ha! I said to my family that it looked like it should have a sea monster there. Like loch Ness! You've just proved it

It's an old fish story, the one that got away, it was this big, you wouldn't believe it. Mostly because this old fella tosses them back in. Its mostly fun catching them, its not as if they feel pain, its fun for them. They breathe air and actually like being out of the water. He tosses them back because he doesn't care for the flavor.

He taught me the best way to catch humans, you look for their air bubbles. You see they are air breathers, so they have to surface now and then to get some oxygen. You wait for the bubbles and then just drop your line into the water. Just make sure the bait is fresh.

thanks.. ironically when i get an idea in my head, i think everyone is going to do the same thing. so i have to rush to get it up fast.

you can catch different kinds of people depending what kind of bait you use.

The 8th edit challenge from Abbie Shores (FAA admin) - my 2nd entry. I brought out more details in the image, give it more height so the image wasn't divided in half. Added a diver in the foreground with goldfish on the inside of his diving helmet. Then I added a trawler in the distance and gulls above the boat.

I've made the contest already but it's open for 10 days https://fineartamerica.com/contests/edit-this-8.html

as you can imagine I am ultra, ultra, busy at the moment with our sales and lots of technical queries. So I thought I just set it up so you can join and get involved and I would not forget it.

already have one in there that doesn't fit.

early is better, i'll be rebuilding my machine on the weekend, hoping it all goes well.

I'm very tempted to leave all of those in there that don't fit. Then do one mass purge at the end. Lull them all into a false sense of security.

Doesn't make me angry.... just amused. They completely waste their time

Here's the second one. Not as happy with the effects I added. But I still like my comment on 'swans'.

OK, one more... Swan Lake under a bridge. Yeah, right? Interesting though - to me - in that the photograph I used in this composite was the full cover of a Sotheby's International Real Estate Magazine for this area. Sotheby's, of course, originated over two centuries, in Abbie-land, England.

A major snowstorm is just ending and early risers grab a hot thermos of coffee and some muffins and head to their sailboat for an early sail on the lake. It is Christmas morning and before it snows again and their company arrives that afternoon, they manage to get their boat ready and sail on out. Heading north on the lake they can see the snow clouds dissipating as the sun rises. They have tacked and are heading back to shore here in this image. The swans are out and even with some ice still left on the lake, their trusty boat cuts right through it and they are energized for the celebration ahead. I have digitally painted this image, using oil brushes and some impression brushes.

I used the original image to make a Christmas image and/or card using this ornament and snow which is painted. I want to thank you, Abbie, for all your beautiful images and for the work you have done and to you and everyone that has been here and their amazing work, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

For this challenge I increased a bit of color to bring out the blue and then added a vignette effect to bring more focus on the swans. Many thanks!

It's really interesting when checking out the contest how you can instantly determine the artist behind a lot of the work there. Everybody brings their own distinct style to these challenges and come up with such different ideas. Makes it a lot of fun! Congratulations on yet another batch of amazing images, everybody!
