Linkedin's New Company Pages. Have You Seen These?

I got invited to add a "Company Page" on LinkedIn....so, I finally added my info. Have any of you done so? Not sure if this is going to stay a free feature of if we'll have to upgrade to the expensive premium membership....but, I'm willing to try it.

Here is a link to mine: https://www.linkedin.com/company/artists4god/?viewAsMember=true

If any of you want to add your links below (even to the regular LinkedIn) maybe we can follow each other if we want to.

Lovely work, Andrew....I just followed you! Do you know what the difference between a "showcase" page and a "company" page is?

thank you Rose

a linkedin company is for businesses wishing to create a page to promote their business
while a showcase page is simply for promoting what you do say as an artist, photographer etc etc

Thanks! Do you know how we can actually see who our followers are? I haven't figured that out yet.

unless you subscribe to LinkedIn premium i guess it is hard to find out who is following your page Rose

Oh, okay....are you "premium" there?

i have close to nearly 3,000 connections on LinkedIn Rose so there is always that option of going Premium lol

It's so expensive tho! Think I'll stay free....unless this "company page" gets me lots of sales!

i have been with LinkedIn for a while Rose and their Premium although expensive lol is value for money

I'm pretty sure the last time I went to LinkedIN was 2012 or so. I may have to see if I an remember my password and check it out again

Turns out I joined in 2013, but I bet I haven't been there since early 2015 when I was still trying to get back into TV. I am updating now and guess I need to "learn" how to use the site somewhat. Here's my link in

That's very interesting! I am on there as a regular person from my former career; I did not know there was a company page. I am not sure I have the confidence in myself as a photographer to make a company page but I will enjoy following you all. :)

I don't have a company page and I don't have premium, I get along fine with my current page which is at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dorothyberrylound/ It is available in English and Italian and has some YouTube videos linked into it as well.

I've had one for a few years now, they really are great mostly for SEO. Here's mine https://www.linkedin.com/company/frankjcasellaphoto

You're best to post mostly in your regular feed, as the reach there is deeper than Twitter. However, use a Page like a website because you can link it to your profile .... that image next to your company on the Experience section. I click those all the time when checking out others profiles.

I had a company page.
I checked it one evening and discovered that some guy in a foreign country was claiming to be an employee of mine.
I shut it down...there was no way to get LinkedIn to investigate.

Yes, Gaby, your work is lovely! You just gained a new "follower" here on FAA....if you do the LinkedIn thing ( which I hope you do ), please come back here and share your link so we can "connect" with you there.

Marlene, thanks for the article link! That helps explain it very well.

Dorothy and Frank I "connected" and/or "followed" you both.

I like the "look" of the company page far more then the regular LinkedIn Profile pages.....easier to find our Art/Products.

Thank you, Rose, for the encouragement and info and following. I will look into this further. :)

Thanks for this, Rose! I didn't know you could have a personal AND a business LinkedIn page at no cost.

I read Marlene's link above, and it is apparently better to "connect" than just "follow" on LinkedIn. Here is my current Profile page - please "connect" with me there and I will respond! https://www.linkedin.com/in/susan-wiedmann/

Marlene, was your experience about the phony employee a recent one? I am wondering if there is now a way to prevent that.

Hi everyone,

Last time I was logged on LinkedIn was like 2 years ago on my personal account for my 9-5 job. However, when I read this thread I kind of have the wish to go back to promote my art. 😊

One question, please: how can one open a LinkedIn account as showcase rather than business, since technically I'm not a company?

Thanks everyone!

Louis Dallara

Hi Be-Be;

You can add up to seven pictures to your profile. I think you can also add slideshows, but have makes a slide show an 3rd party app.
You can fid the button for sliseshow under your work button on the top left.
https://www.slideshare.net/

I have not done it yet, I need to... it would be great for a portfolio

Bee-Bee Deigner

Hi Louis,
Thanks for the info! This means that I can add a slideshow on a personal account, right?

Thanks again!

Yes BeBe I think so..

How do you set these pages up? I have a regular page that I use to promote my art, but it isn't cool looking like these pages. Where do I find them on LinkedIn?

Frank J Casella

With regards to connection or following, I always encourage following. Because your connections are suppose to be people you know something about who you can refer to others. This is the purpose of LinkedIn from day one. Here is what I say on my page summary:

" Instead of sending a connection request, please Follow me found at the 'More' button (I save the 30k LinkedIn connection limit for people I know, clients I work with and potential prospects). "

Carel here is what you need to know about Company Pages
