Room Mockup For Art Software Available!

In a new blog entry of mine I wrote that I made available my new “Interior mockup helper” software, which, as the name suggests, is an art staging application that allows to stage artists' artwork into interior images in an easy way.

It is a rewritten version of the previous one (which needed Photoshop to run). This one uses Java and is Win&Mac compatible.

If you tried already to do a mockup of your artwork using Photoshop you know that is a time consuming process. Imagine staging a set of 100+ images by hand!

“Interior mockup helper” takes the hassle out by automatizing the whole process. It even has a full automatic mode that works without user intervention.

The interior images are expandable and the collection is slowly growing.

Head here "Interior mockup helper" and see if it fits your needs.

NOTE: I got the assent from Abbie to post this here.

Thanks! I know a lot of our members use interiors. I want to but do not have the time to make the mock ups. I will check this out.....when I get time

Ohhh, ahhhh, thanks very much, Giovanni! I used to create mockups all the time but I started getting lazy about it because as you say, it's very time-consuming. I'll definitely check this out!

Thanks for sharing. So it's not free? I don't think I want to have JAVA installed on my PC. I got rid of it.

Hi Jessica, no it is not but I think it is priced fairly.

in dollars?

@ Giovanni -- beautiful craftsmanship, & talent!

I see the Euro price (via monetary converter) is approx. 12 Euro =13.44 United States Dollar,
& that you also have expansion packs on offer for @ 8 Euro.

Be interesting to give this a try -- I have Java installed as it's vital for running several programs -- inculding fractal software JWF Wildfire.

Thanks Carmen!

Hi, Giovanni,

I spent most of yesterday looking through room mockups and picking my way through Photoshop setups. Not fun.

Your software instructions seem straightforward (easy, actually), with quick and attractive results. I'd like to order and give it a whirl. I'm just beginning to customize my new AW site, so the timing is just right.

One question first: Will it run okay on my old-ish Win7 pc with only 4gb RAM?

Hi Wendy, as long as you install the latest Java version it shouldn't be a problem. I am here to help you otherwise.

Giovanni,

I've purchased stock interior mock up rooms & also a mock up program that can only be used on tablet. I found it them time consuming to continue using.

I'm still interested in an easy to use program.

Could you offer a trial version? I would like to try before I buy :)

You're very welcome, Giovanni.

Also interested in a trial version, thanks.

What Jessica said - it looks nice but I don't want JAVA on my PC anymore. It was a problem.

I see the expansion packs at the bottom. But I don't see in your info how many room setups are included when you first purchase the program.

Carlin, Carmen I'll do my best to set things up tomorrow (it's almost bed time here).

Carolyn, the rooms in the default pack are shown in the user manual which you can download in the product page.

John, I never had a issue in many years. What are you referring to exactly?

Carmen Hathaway

Thanks, Giovanni -- look forward to checking it out.

Where do the interior shots come from? Are they properly licensed or would users be liable if the owners made a copyright claim?

Carmen Hathaway

From Page 7 in the manual -- link in opening post above, and here: interior mockup helper -- for Giovanni's program:

Included interior images.
Below are the interior images included in this application.
All images are available under a Creative Commons license and/or a RF license and are free to re-use for both personal and commercial purposes.

Ed, this is in his manual: "Below are the interior images included in this application. All images are available under a Creative
Commons license and/or a RF license and are free to re-use for both personal and commercial
purposes."

Giovanni, is it possible to change the orientation of the frames?

Also, is it possible to just buy an expansion pack or would we have to first purchase the default pack?

Would love to see some square format frames if you're planning on doing another expansion pack.

RF doesn't mean free. You can't redistribute an image to other people.

Carmen Hathaway

Interesting, Edward.

Since companies usually sell RF licenses for stock images from their collections, and Giovanni is an accomplished photographer -- I expect his image RF license fee is included in the cost of purchasing his mockup software.

He mentioned earlier it was late in the evening in his time zone -- I look forward to his responses when he's available.

An RF license from a third party could be valid if it's a special RF license like an Extended RF or Enhanced RF license as those are offered at many stock sites for a higher licensing fee. If they are Giovanni's own images then all is good as well. FWIW, Creative Commons has several different licenses but most of them are attribution required unless they are CC0. Many of the other CC licenses have some other restrictions as well. CC0 is public domain.

Personally, I have sold many extended RF licenses that allow resale as part of an application or software and even for use on PODs.

Cheers

All the images are licensed properly for use in software and the requirement of attribution is honored (when applicable).

Carlin, Carmen and all: I added the demo version link in the page.
Peggy:
1. no the frames in the images have fixed orientation sorry.
2. >>Also, is it possible to just buy an expansion pack or would we have to first purchase the default pack?
I changed it a bit now and made available all the packs as standalone products but you can freely combine different products in one and use the different packs from within the software in a seamless way. Changed the prices accordingly too. Hope this makes sense.
3. >>Would love to see some square format frames if you're planning on doing another expansion pack.
Will look into it. Keep in mind that, if the interior image doesn't feature a frame, that image can accomodate any aspect ratio image, including square ones.

Thanks, Giovanni. I have a thing for the look of frames in mockups but that's just my personal taste. Your point about accommodating various aspect ratios makes perfect sense.

Carmen Hathaway

Thanks for the demo, Giovanni. Seamless, very easy to use.

I am lost when it comes to this stuff but I would love to have something to use besides the white couch and yellow chair. I think I'll put it in the suggestions.

Yesterday when I followed your link I could see that I had the ability to download your product, also watch the youtube video & download the manual.

Right now, the link page has nothing to click on below the top navigation menu.

I'm using Chrome.

PS. Many of these mock-ups want to push larger prints so the set ups are over couches & large walls. I sell a LOT of original paintings, 8x10, 11x14, so I would be interested in smaller mockups that help make those sizes look good, not like they are tiny.

Giovanni, I went to your website and found the software page but when I click on the Mock-up image, the screen changes but nothing comes up. I see the website background but no information appears. can you offer some assistance ot advice to remedy that?

Giovanni Allievi

Carlin, Bill and all,
based upon input from various people who tried the demo version, I see that one common question is the ability to change the size of the displayed workart.
I didn't think to implement that when I started the developement but I realize that it is an important issue for many.
So I decided to put it in stand-by for a few days (together with the web page) as I am traveling right now an my internet access is limited.

Thanks so far for the your interest, I'll be back with something more flexible in a few days hopefully!

Update: the new release will be out in a few days.
It will be possible to input the size of the artwork to match room dimensions.
Stay tuned...

The new version is now online. The position and size of the images can now be changed to match features size in the room.
Each available pack is a standalone product although they can be used as one by copying all the subsequent purchased packs in the same folder and choosing which pack to use in the drop down selector.

A demo version is available here

NOTE: You may need to refresh the page in your browser to get the updated content.

BTW, the first 3 purchases gets a free Px Tshirt that I won in the contest since I can't wear those.
