To enter, please follow me on FAA (442 followers and counting, but I'd love to get to 1,000), send out a link to the piece above on one of your social media channels (FB, IG, LinkedIn, etc.), and then come back here and comment letting me know that you did both. Once we reach the goal I'll use a random number generator to award the metal print to one of you.
also, will you follow back? we followed you a long time ago (love your work), but you never followed back, so we go and delete any other FAA artist who does not follow back when we follow them. it should be mutual back scratching! Like mask wearing, most effective if we BOTH wear them...most effective to get new followers if one follows one back...
Design Turnpike -- you keep thanking other artists but have not responded if you will follow back! We all want more followers!!
It is perfectly OK if you choose not to do so, but you are asking for help -- so please be honest and transparent. People can know they are then helping you, but you will not necessarily help them in return. Or maybe you will - so please respond so people know. Thanks!
DT, you I would think know, that having FAA followers doesn't really mean much money wise.
I only follow a few on here but have 800 +/- followers. I also dont ask anyone here to follow me on here. If they do its because they find my work pleasant to look at or something else... who knows.
What I would think that matters is that we shared a link to your work to our followers... now there is real value.
You already outsell me by a factor of 3 or more, so you offering a chance to win a metal print to access my social media followers... I rarely advertise to my followers but I almost never share something to them that I dont see value in it for them... I'm currently between 50-60k on my SM channels and if you want to purchase a tweet or a FB post let's talk $$.
Not answering the folks who want a simple follow back as to whether you would follow them seems a bit... aloof?
Followership here is our peers (for the most part) and that means respect and that is something to be earned.
Thanks David, I'm always looking for the next way to get the word out about my work and get quality links, shares, etc. Prizes like I'm offering usually help. My entire business is built on word of mouth, SEO and social media links. I have an ad budget of zero. 90 out of a hundred ideas (maybe even this one) don't pan out, but the 10% or so that do have paid me well for a dozen plus years.
I was asked by someone not in the thread, to interfere.... er... get involved.
But I think it has all been said. If you self promote here and do not reciprocate I am not going to get involved in how people react to it as long as, (like College), it is politely pointed out. We do not allow self promotion in the forum for that very reason.
I let this continue as you may get a very nice prize
Interesting choice of words "once we reach that goal".
It really benefits you more if "we" do not reach that goal, doesn't it? As long as you have less than 1,000 followers, you will continue get free advertisement. Is that why you didn't answer my question if you will follow back?
Since you have been with FAA for a long time, surely you must be aware of the fact that there are discussion threads where artists follow each other? But wait, then you wouldn't get the free advertisement!
After reading through the comments once again, i’ve decided that my metal print giveaway would be better suited to a different audience. So, consider this little experiment complete. If you’ve already followed me and tweeted out to social media, and you feel so inclined, please Unfollow and delete your promotion.
