Question About Posted Image Please

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to temporarily inactivate an image? I want to remove an image while the print is showing at a local gallery, but I don’t want to delete it altogether from FAA. I would rather just make it invisible until the show is over. If I delete it, I would lose the view count, the favorites, the likes, and comments. Is this possible? Thanks!

Create a password protected Collection and put it in there. You can move it later.

Hi Donna, thanks. OK I created a password protected collection and put it in there, but it still shows up in my images feed. If I delete it from there, won’t it also be deleted from the gallery?

It should disappear once the server updates.

What do you mean by images feed? The activity feed?

The image will still show on your images pages when you are signed in. Log off and you won't see it. No one else can see it but you.

you'll see it whether its passworded or not. its a bit confusing that way. as long as you copy that into the collection, then that should be it. don't lose your password. you can also remove your prices or keywords, and just save them for later.

It only works when You are logged out AND You have it ONLY in a private collection. You have to erase it from other collections (as content, not the image itself !).

Not true Rudi. I put my images first in my private Collection to proof them. Then after checking them over I place them in the appropriate Collection. A couple of times I forgot to uncheck the Private Collection box. So the image was in both a private and non private Collection. It would not show visible in the non private Collection. I could not figure out what was wrong at first. Then I noticed that I still had it in the private Collection. Unchecked that box to remove it and instantly it showed visible in the non private Collection.

A made exactly the other experience:
first put to a public collection
than put also in a private collection
logged out
still seeing the image
erased from the public collection
not visible now !

When we are right both, the first action seems to make the result !
My try was two years ago. May be something changed ?

I tested it Rudi and you are correct, and it still is visible. But, when I clicked on the image I was asked for a password.
So if someone wants to make an image completely invisible, then yes, they must remove it from all other Collections and leave it only in the Private one.

I don't know why my images stopped showing though, when I accidentally left them in the Private Collection. I always log OUT to get a link to give the buyer, and that is when I could not even see my images, cause they were in my Private collection still. Weird!
