So sorry and know the feeling. We lost our 14-year-old Havanese, this past Saturday and still look for her around the house, coming around a corner with her big smile!
I'm very sorry for your loss Susan. My dogs are so important to me. And as an occasional breeder, I get about one call each week from someone who has lost a beloved pet, and it is always hard to hear the heartbreak in those voices. I hope you'll feel better and stronger in the days ahead.
Thanks so much guys, this is so hard. Peony led a long and pampered life, she was 14 years old and had diabetes, so I knew it was coming eventually but not so suddenly. Petunia, the one that remains, is actually Peony's mom and she's still very derpy and youthful at 16.

So sorry Susan, I know the feeling, thinking about it makes me so sad, I have my Buddy and he is so old I can't bare to part with him when his time comes. It's never easy!
I had 5 great danes and now an empty nest....It's a terrible feeling.... most of us can relate..... it sucks.... not matter if it's only a few months or 11 years..... it's a terrible feeling.... one day at a time....
Aw, Susan - so sorry to hear this. We lost our "Jack" nearly four years ago (almost 15 years old) and still talk fondly of him. It may be time for us to adopt a senior dog - we need another fur-family member.
Dear Susan, I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, am a dog person...each keeshond was a fur baby and loss was excruciating. The thing about sadness is it is a multiple emotion bomb and, as such, is overwhelming. Perhaps that’s why there are five stages of grieving... I am sending you a soft hug and heartfelt understanding. I am also giving my 10 year old Pom an extra hug tonite for you.
We lost our Boxer “Luna” last March. She was just shy of 14 yrs, we are sorry for your loss. We got a new Rottie puppy last oct. She is just shy of 9 months old now and is a joy in our life. 80+ pounds of silly.
