I'm considering this a drawing challenge for me like the one a week challenge. I never realized how hard it is to get good reference photos by photographing your own eye with a closeup setting LOL.

Off to do my other challenge drawing.

Detailed eye means the eye is the subject. The eye is the only thing we are interested in during this challenge and should be the focus (sorry) of the picture

Lucia Waterson

Ok, sorry Abbie, I have done an other entry, just an eye. But may I please ask: if photographers present a bit of face of the subject can I do the same with a painting please? Thank you very much for considering!

Abbie Shores

The message is for everyone. The whole theme is an eye. One eye. The eye must be the real main subject

Lucia Waterson

OK Abbie thank you very much for your patience in explaining me, sorry for the hassle! One eye and that's it, very cool, thank you!

Preeti M

Thank you!

Abbie Shores

I've removed an image to be done again. Please read my last few posts in this thread.

It's very important to do challenges properly as it's a test of one subject. This subject is an eye

Day 3 has started.

I am amazed at the images you all are posting, beautiful stuff!

Lucia Waterson

Hi, For day 3 I chose an abstracted eye, it's a conceptual artwork and it's called An eye for nature 1.

When possible, I like the series in a given challenge have something in common.

In this case " My EYE"

Today's image was particularly daunting, doing it with a hands on digital process I call, "Pixel Pointillism"

After a number of trials an errors, I've settled on the rather "Crazy" image I've just posted

By the way, I started to "Pointillize" the eyebrow, but that would have taken all day, even perhaps into tomorrow.

And I believe would be less effective

Tomorrow, I intend to create an actual rendition in pen and ink,

Your images are all amazing! Well done. Eyes aren't actually easy

Day 4 has started.

Lucia Waterson

Hi, for my day 4 I draw the eye of a little kid and I called it The eye of innocence.
Innocence doesn't simply mean not knowing.
It's their simplicity and purity that touches our hearts.
The way they say what they think, without overthinking.
It's their delightful joy that makes them enthusiastic over little things.
It's their sweet ingenuity.
And it's the complete trust that they have in us.
Their innocence is their beauty.
There is no seeing without looking.

Thank you so much everyone for this challenge, especially Abbie and Gaby and well done everyone!

Hi Abbie and all challenge participants. While no one has said anything to me about my Day 1 submission, in retrospect I am thinking it did not comply with the instructions of the challenge in that the image was not just of the emu's eye, but of its surrounding neck as well. As a result, I am wanting to submit a new image as seen below:

Sell Art Online

Should I just add it to an edited Day 1 post, or leave it here?

Roger Swezey

David,

I think it's too late to edit your Day 1 submission (24 hour max)

Abbie Shores

It is too late now. But we accepted the original as long as future ones are in the vein of eye equality

James McCormack

It is, indeed, harder than it looks, I got stuck thinking about different coloured eyes, but it's not much of a challenge doing simple colour variation. Anyway, definitely stretched me a bit.

I loved this challenge! I could use a few more days! Nice to see everyone's take on the theme as usual. Eyes are Awesome!
