Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
I stand firm, rooted in the ground, battle-worn but ready to face the new day, come wave after wave, I shall not be moved, etc. ... I may stop taking photographs in order to start writing bad, sappy poetry. Nonetheless, there is much power in this tree withstanding the Atlantic year in year out.
It probably started with a young teenager looking at NatGeo pictures and deciding that he wanted to be the next Galen Rowell. First published at seventeen, first exhibition at twenty-one, photography suddenly took a third-row back seat for a couple of decades as life unravelled in unforeseeable directions.. A couple of decades later, the re-entry to the initial passion was a decade of extreme mountaineering and the resulting photos becoming the foundation for a stock photography business. Age, not stopping at my doorstep, led me to shift priorities back to what I once dreamed of doing. Living in a small RV since 2020, I currently travel throughout Europe at a leisurely pace while stopping here and there to playfully relearn a craft I once...
