Description
A couple of Rock Climbers enjoying a climb in the Grand Canyon near Lipan Viewpoint. Framed by the Rocks they just climbed down from, and about to go down out of sight.++
Then there are the major viewpoints like Mather, and Yavapai, which are must see locations. Probably at least 90% of visitors go there so they can be crowded
.................................................
Less crowded locations, with fantastic views are Guano, Lapin, Moron, Navajo, and Desert View. Most all of the viewpoints have views of the Colorado river, but some of the best have no view of the river or very restricted one. Maps of the park show some of the areas that you would like other than Mather and Yaivapai. Peaks that are prominant such as Isis Temple, Thor, Zoroaster, and views of the Abyss. There are also many trail heads along the south rim where you can walk down a ways (take plenty of water) or even all the way to the river.

TIP: Always use an UltraViolet filter on your camera. The haze at the GrandCanyon is worse than in many places, so even with modern digital cameras, a Haze Filter is benificial . . . . Trips to the GC in late Sept or October mean the the canyon is freer from haze, which can obscure a lot. As the Canyon is over 6000-7000 feet, it can mean low lying clouds are also blocking the view at other times of the year.
