Description
Centred in this photograph we have the Convention Centre which was built in time for and used for the hand over ceremony when Hong Kong was returned to Chinese rule on July 1st 1997. The area behind the Convention Centre in the district of Wan Chai was also developed at the same time with the construction of Central Plaza. This magnificent tower was once the largest in Hong Kong at 78 stories (however now dwarfed by International Finance Centre 2). You can clearly see Central Plaza as the tallest building in this image behind the Convention Centre.
