Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Cuckoo-pint flower stalk. Light micrograph of a section through a spadix (spike inflorescence) from a cuckoo-pint (Arum maculatum) plant. The spadix grows at a great rate and at a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius. It is therefore full of starch, used to power this immense growth. In the top chamber there are rings of male flowers (red). In the bottom of spadix are rings of female flowers containing ovules (red). Magnification: x4, when printed 10 centimetres high.
