Description
If any one airplane symbolizes racing in the early 1930's, it's the Granville Brothers' GeeBee with its stubby wings, talon-like unretractable wheels, fat fuselage, and BIG engine, all covered in a flashy paint job. This is the one that Jimmy Doolittle screamed around the pylons to victory in the 1932 Thompson Trophy Race. He also set a land plane speed record in the Shell Speed Dash, pushing the GeeBee to 296mph
This painting was originally done for the Williams Brothers Model Products 1/32 scale kit box art.
