Description
The gorgeously green emerald tree boa (Corallus caninus) is depicted here coiled upon a tree branch, The branch rests in green waters, and the reptile is reflected in the ripples. Some of these snakes have striking white marks, as does this one. They live in the rain forests of South America. They are not venomous, are often quite placid, and generally feed on small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Tied for first place in the Snakes contest February 2017.

Hey, Susan. Thank you. I understand that these are pretty mellow as snakes go, although definitely not if you're a small edible creature.
