This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
:Loon Family, Framed" is an original fine art wildlife photograph and digital artwork by Sandra Huston.
This is a photograph of our newest hatched loon chicks in 2016 resting on its parents while one is sleeping peacefully and the other is looking at me on Tacoma Lakes in Litchfield, Maine. This is the second attempt at nesting for this pair. They are about a few days old in this image as she was still nesting 5 days ago when I last kayaked and checked on her. I believe this is the same pair of mature loons that I had based my Loon of Tacoma Lakes book on back back in 2006. They have returned year after year and nest in the same area each year on our lake. This particular pair of loons are possibly in their late teens and are very trusting of humans. The parent will dive and fish underwater and leave her little chicks on the surface about 25 feet away from me as I float in my kayak watching over them.
Honored to be featured in the following Fine Art America groups:
About Sandra Huston
Welcome, I am a passionate nature photographer, pastel artist and author of 'Loons of Tacoma Lakes', a book celebrating the love of loons. I have enjoyed drawing animals and taking photographs from as long as I can remember. In 1990 I went professional with my first international website, offering fine art photography and commissioned pet portraits. It was not until 2006 after my first book was published that I truly became interested in digital photography as a true art form. With digital photography the sky is the limit and I truly enjoy sharing the wonders of nature that Maine and New England has to offer. While browsing through my art collections here at Fine Art America and Pixels.com, you will find what stirs my soul through wildlife...
