Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Artist's Description

Pederpes tetrapod anatomy, illustration. The bones highlighted here are the spine, the limbs, and the shoulder girdle (red). Tetrapods are four-limbed animals that are similar to amphibians, that evolved from lobe-finned fishes, and then evolved further into reptiles and mammals. The earliest tetrapods evolved around 400 million years ago in the Devonian period, but the resulting vertebrate land invasion took many millions of years. Pederpes lived during the Early Carboniferous, around 348 to 347 million years ago. For the anatomy of this animal's close relative the fish Eusthenopteron, see image C047/5513.
