Presented on a black background, a patent illustration shows a guitar or similar musical instrument as filed by F. Gretsch, Jr. on January 31, 1941. There are two figures: Fig. 1 shows a full front view of the guitar while Fig. 2 shows a side view, detailing the thickness and contours of the instrument. The patent number Des. 129,478 and date of September 16, 1941, are prominently displayed at the top, and the illustration is signed by Fred Gretsch, the inventor, with Howard Wilson acting as his attorney.
