Going without a campfire as it turns twilight to night ? Whaaaaa As for bears, they only cause havoc in national parks for most part where people leave out food. One was after my food and by banging a couple of pans together, I treed it ! Backpacking into wilderness where bears seldom if ever see humans, they are not dangerous unless you get too close to their young. Living in a remote area for some time, I had six evening visitors, racoons, .. and could pet the doe that came in the morning on her way to the stream below the cabin. My companion, a Samoyed, would catch trout from the stream. ( Seems like a life time ago now.)

Food! Makes me hungry :) Most campsites in the UK do not allow open fires. I have a tiny camping stove that does my food nicely :) If you want to stay warm, you have to climb in your sleeping bag. Mind you, we have no bears here :)

The fire is going, so pull up a seat, sit, enjoy and take in that all releasing and greeting long deep breath which silently acknowledges, ... "I'm glad I came, ... I'm happy I'm here and I'm at home within myself once again. "
