Description
Like so many artists during these trying times, I have been wanting to paint something that represents our situation. Toilet paper seems to have become an important commodity. I don't know why...but it seems to be less available than it used to be. Masks, like the purple one in the middle are definitely important for going out. The whitish can in the foreground is disinfectant. Wine, well, that just seems to be self explanatory.
I assembled all the items on the table in front of me. Using natural light, I loosely blocked it all in. I didn't originally put the corks in. It seemed to help the composition. It gave the mask something on which to hang. I found myself using this simple palette. I used a triadic color scheme, purple, orange and green.
This is an acrylic painting on Museum series panel clayboard. Archival seal. Ultra smooth clay surface. Archival and acid free, the patented kaolin clay ground is applied to a non-warping premium hardboard. 16” by 20”.
