Upland forests Lady Woodcock is the American Woodcock (Scolopax Minor), photo from my archives, taken in spring 2016.
Edit: Answering the question of Marilyn, photo taken during an American Woodcock banding activity, you need a pointing dog to can find a well camouflaged woodcock in the forest ground, this woodcock was find by my friend's pointing dog.
