Grosse Pointe War Memorial - Russell A. Alger, Jr. House is a U.S. National Register Places and a Michigan State Historic Site, Located in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan and was built in 1910 by Architect Charles Adam Platt.
Russell A. Alger Senior served as the Govenor of Michigan, a United States Senator from Michigan, and the U.S. Secretary of War. His Son Russell A. Alger, Jr Built the home in 1910 and donated the Italian Style Estate, " The Moorings" in 1949 and became a War Memorial honoring veterans of World War II, and later Also The Korean War, Vietnam War & Desert Storm.
The Landscaping Is beautiful with Elegant Statues flowing with Fountains and Ponds and Beautiful Night lighting for Wedding Pictures and other events, The War Memorial is on the banks of Lake St. Clair.
