I was inspired by Victor Horta�s architecture of the �staircase in the Van Eetvelde House, Brussels, Belgium, 1895,� (Kleiner & Mamiya, 368). I love the aesthetic quality of the vine-like, or twining plant, pattern of the Art Nouveau style. Kleiner and Mamiya (2008) also noted, "The Art Nouveau movement was an attempt to create art and architecture based on natural forms" (p. 368). I especially like the twining plant pattern of the iron railing, and even the break cables of the bicycle are similar to plant stems. I also like how the lines and shapes of the bicycle overlap the pattern of the iron railing. The bicycle appears to bring a sense of modernism to the composition and, overall, reflects the international style of Art Nouveau.
