An aspen tree forest in winter. Aspen trees photographed in the mountains of New Mexico are a favorite among photographers and artists alike.
There is something about aspens, sometimes referred to as quaking aspen. Is it the white bark with black knots? Is it the colors we see in the fall, or the stark colors in winter?
Aspen grow as a family unit, constantly sending out new shoots. So, when you see a grove of aspen, it is likely all the same root system.
