Description
Austin City Glow
We captured this shot of the city of Austin and the congress bridge from the hike and bike trail on Ladybird Lake. While waiting on the bats to come out from under the congress ave. bridge in October, the water picked up this golden reflections of the city which gave off a nice golden glow in the Lake. You can see the people waiting on the bridge for the bats to come out but this night it was a no show for the bats they were sleeping in on this day. Austin has one of the largest colony of bats with 1.5 million mexican free-tailled bats coming every spring to sometime in the fall to their bat homes in central texas. On this day the bats were a no show so suspect that they had already left for their winter home. We can look forward to their return in the spring. We will be back again to capture the new arrivals once they return.
