Like the logo but not the tank top so much it rides to low at the front and the back.
Years ago, we planted a few river birch trees, one right in front of our back deck, to give some shade to the deck and the kitchen. The story goes, unknown to me at the time, that hornets like to use the bark of the river birch for their nests. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but I do know we share the backyard with any number of large hornets in warm weather. Turning the lights on out back at night to walk the dogs is not for the faint of heart. Hornets like to buzz the lights.
This particular shot was captured October 27, 2014, on a very cold and frosty morning. I noticed this hornet and two others parked on the deck railing and was able to get close because they were just coming awake from the frosty cold of the night before.

Marlene, I'm really glad you caught that ... it was done deliberately. These guys can be very intimidating ... not so much when they're defrosting, lol, but under other circumstances, yes. I thought the crooked horizon would add subtle feelings of unease and discomfort .. which is what I certainly feel when these guys are eyeballing me from a quiet nook in the garden!!
