Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Edward Bartow (1870-1958), US chemist. Bartow studied in the US, completing his education in Germany where he was awarded his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Gottingen in 1895. He specialised in drinking water purification and wastewater treatment. By 1905, he was Director of the Illinois State Water Survey and was professor of sanitary chemistry at the University of Illinois (until 1920). He served in the Sanitary Corps of the US Army during World War I. He was professor of chemistry at the University of Iowa (1920-1940), and president of the American Water Works Association (1922) and the American Chemical Society (1934).
