This photo was taken by myself of two of my dogs and cleverly captioned by Kevin Rudd. It went viral immediately.
The brown dog is a stray that we picked up in the neighbourhood in 2013. He was just 11kilos and had been hit by a car. We fixed him up and he became our mandatory Cyprus rescue as most households have one! His smile means everything and it is very apt that it has been sent around the world to bring a smile to so many others.
The rottweiler I got when she was 6 months old from a lady who had bought her but she couldn't keep her as she was working 12 hour days. She had been in private kennels for 2 months.
They are best of friends :-)

After graduating from university, on my travels, I fell in love with this beautiful island of love, in the middle of the Mediterranean. Everything about it appealed to me. It was like going back in time. Simple village ways and simple village life. Basic living. Basic foods. An ease to life itself. In some mountain villages the people still travelled the narrow winding paths by donkey! The sea and the beaches were incredible. I have always been a nature girl. I fell in love with Aphrodite and her story. Here, I made my own story. We designed and built our home on the edge of the "forest" (I must clarify that this "forest" is in reality an open space with rocks, shrubbery and a few sparse trees.....a Cyprus rather barren forest...
