Description
Long billed curlews, a kind of sandpiper once classified as "Near Threatened" because of hunting but now reclassified as "Least Concern", are a common sight on the shore near Morro Bay, California. In this sunset scene, Morro Rock, the large volcanic plug for which the nearby town was named, can be seen in the distance.

love this long billed sandpipers! We seem to get shorter bills on the East coast.
