Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Born 1959 Buckinghamshire, England. Son of British painters Jeremy and Brenda King. Theatre BA at Dartington College Of Arts 1981. Figurative painter. Subjects are mostly portraits and nudes in dramatically lit settings. Strong emphasis on light and shadow or Film Noir lighting techniques to define the subjects. Favorite medium oil ...or watercolour for quick sketches. Favorite painters Andrew Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, Egon Schiele, Alphonse Mucha, Tamara De Lempicka, Guy Peelaert, lots of Neo Classical works ...and let's not forget Gil Elvgren! He now lives and paints in Constantine, Cornwall and exhibits annually in the local art route. Most of his work is commissioned.

Well there she is once again alone in a crowd and so vulnerable like her little flower. The crowd moving further away from her with the exception of one man perhaps coming her way. The lady glancing back in a rather disdainful way. The color yellow on her coat which wraps her up completely. But Marilyn is wearing a sun dress and exposes herself to the crowd. But that look on her face says it all, she cries for the little flower. The tension you paint in your stories is exquisite! The pale crowd never wanting to really understand the real Marilyn. Well as you can see I could go on and on. That is what your artwork does to me Jo. Not many artists move me to tears the way you have done with this fantastic painting. F/V
