An acrylic painting with texturing on a Lord of the Rings novel theme.
The theme is the evil One Ring of Power from the film and novel, The Lord of the Rings, which forms the centerpiece of J.R.R. Tolkein's prodigious literature depicting an entire mythological world. The Ring here is superimposed upon the orange symbol for the Two Towers.
Interestingly, the combination of the two figures is identical to the symbol of Phi, which is the Golden Ratio of geometry. Phi is an important number used by various sciences to describe natural phenomena. So perhaps the combination of the two figures is not so evil.
Work completed in May 2015.
I have no formal training in art. I have worked primarily in the educational field. I began to create art after traveling around the world. This opened my eyes to a greater aesthetic perception.
