Even growing up in the South, I was married before I ever tasted persimmon pudding. A friend of my husband's parents would make him that pudding every Christmas and it was just so good, I loved it too. I have never made it myself because it's so labor-intensive removing the pulp from the large pit, plus I don't have her secret recipe.
