Many Pine Plantations or "tree farms" can be seen along the roadways in East Texas. Landowner's supplement their income by planting, growing and harvesting these trees for lumber. It takes several years for a stand of trees to reach this height and the landowner has surely spent many hours clearing underbrush and trimming lower limbs to encourage tree growth. Great artwork....I own a pine plantation in south Louisiana and this could be from my place.
Betty Northcutt replied:
Thank you, Daniel! Pine trees are predominant in our area, but I like the uniformity of the plantation rows. The ones that are routinely tended can also be quite profitable!

Fantastic shot and view Betty! I have planted more the a few of them myself, all by hand.. Very hard work in the Mo, Ozarks where the land is up and down and full of stones!! I jared my teeth many times swinging the maddock thinking I had a clear spot only hit one of those ol rocks!! :D v.f
Betty Northcutt replied:
Oh my, Debbie! Kudos to you for the hard work! One thing I have noticed about pine trees...they will grow anywhere...even out of a rock! LOL! Thanks so much for the wonderful comment and v/f!
