Description
Thundering Silence By Paul Shier.
Thundering Silence is dedicated to those unselfish immortals who will live forever and was donated to the people of New York City in 2005.
The left boot represents the south tower of the World trade centre after its colapse, the moment the whole world realized the scope of this trajic part of history. The right boot stands tall and proud like the people of New York City who suffered the most being in the center of this nightmare. The Firemans helmet represents the emergency service personnel thrust into the middle of this senseless criminal act.
The south tower crashing down sending THUNDERING rubble and clouds of dust, shocked myself and most others into stunned SILENCE at the scope of this trajic part of history.
This sculpture is displayed at Bellevue Hospital, New York City, close to ground zero and the first hospital to receive casulties during 9/11.
