Art Deco Weekend In South Beach, Florida

Miami, FL - January 19th, 2014

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA -- This three-day free street festival celebrates Miami's Art Deco legacy. Art Deco was a popular international design movement from 1925 until 1939, affecting the decorative arts such as architecture, interior design, and industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as fashion, painting, the graphic arts and film. This movement was an amalgam of many different styles and movements of the early twentieth century, including Neoclassical, Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau, and Futurism. Art Deco experienced a decline in popularity during the late 1930s and early 1940s, and soon fell out of public favor. Bald Eagle Nesting In Pembroke Pines, Florida

Miami, FL - January 19th, 2014

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. - Several bald eagle chicks were born a few days ago. Very rare sighting of bald eagle nest which was discovered in 2010 in pine preserve on the outskirts of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Habitat: Coasts, inland waterways. Range: Resident in Florida; in summer many disperse northward out of state. It's unclear how many chicks there are. Most nests have two or three. Only 20 percent of bald eagles actually reach the age of maturity, which is 5 years of age, where they can reproduce. The parents will care for the chicks for about 2.5 months by bringing food to the next, according to the National Wildlife Federation. Bald eagles are a protected species in the U.S.
