This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!
The interior of Antwerp's Cathedral of Our Lady was so pretty, with the autumn light coming through the stained glass window lighting up the rows of chairs. Photos were allowed in the cathedral and I must have gotten quite involved in working on photos, taking a long time. That may look like a devout worshiper with his head bowed in prayer but it is actually my husband who fell asleep waiting for me. One of the things that this cathedral is known for is that it contains a number of significant works by the Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens, a hometown favorite. Construction of the cathedral was begun in 1352, and replaced a Romanesque church built in the 12th century. The last vestiges of that church were demolished in 1481. The choir and nave were built first between 1352 and 1411. The west front was built later, between 1422 and 1474. The last part, the tower, was finished in 1518. The cathedral was the tallest structure in the Low Countries for several centuries.
