The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

All metal prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with mounting hooks and nails.

Dogfish gill. Light micrograph of a gill ray and gill lamellae, from a dogfish (Scyliorhinus canicular). Each vertical gill is supported at the base by a gill ray (inverted U) and muscles. The gill consists of primary lamellae (with central brachial arteries) on which are very thin leaf-like secondary lamellae with capillaries at the center. The secondary lamellae increase the surface area and shorten the diffusion path, which speeds up the absorption of oxygen and expulsion of carbon dioxide by the fish through its gills. Fish use gills to extract oxygen from the surrounding water. Magnification: x103 when printed at 10 centimetres high.
