The print is much darker in person. It looks like an underexposed photo and hard to make out any detail on the bottom half of the print. Paper quality is good. Fast shipping.
Artist's Description
I made this original image back in 1998 when I wrote a poem as a tribute to James Joyce. The poem is about 40 lines therefore I used only the first 10 lines in this painting.
The effigy is from an iconic photograph taken of James Joyce outside Shakespeare and Company on the Rue de LOdeon in Paris, the bookshop owned by Sylvia Beach the American and first publisher of Ulysses.
I used the image as a poster for an exhibition in 1999 at Airfield House gallery in south Co Dublin. I now offer it to you as a print.
