Biometric facial map. Human face with markers of facial recognition software. The identification of a behavioural or physical trait for recognition purposes is known as biometrics. Facial recognition relies on accurate mapping of features such as nose length, mouth width, distance between eyes and many other points of reference to provide a set of data that is unique to that individual.
