Sea turtles conservation. Crowd gathered to watch staff from a conservation group releasing newly-hatched Kemp's ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys kempii) into the Gulf of Mexico at dawn. Kemp's ridley sea turtles are the smallest and rarest of the sea turtles, with adults reaching about 2 feet long. They are critically endangered. Photographed on South Padre Island, Texas, USA.
