As the title "Alone, Never, Always" suggests it's an exploration of being alone. Initially I was looking at the darker or unpleasant side of being alone, that feeling of being separated from others and unable to connect. However, the final painting evolved from separation towards a feeling of understanding that being and feeling alone is natural, and it that sometimes it can actually be wonderful to explore solitude.
