This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

Artist's Description

Amelia Earhart (1897-1937), US aviation pioneer, in the Hammond Model Y prototype (later Stearman-Hammond Y-1) used in the 1934 Bureau of Air Commerce safe airplane competition. Earhart set numerous aviation records, including flying solo across the Atlantic in a record 13 hours and 30 minutes (1932). In 1937, Earhart attempted to become the first woman to fly around the world. Her Electra plane, with navigator Fred Noonan also on board, disappeared on 2 July 1937 whilst flying over the Pacific Ocean from New Guinea to Howland Island. No trace of the plane or crew has been found. This Harris and Ewing photograph dates from 1936.
